Lungi Ngidi is enjoying his first season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) under the tutelage of India’s most successful captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Ngidi has played only three matches for CSK this season and has picked three wickets but for the South African pacer perhaps the experience will be of more value.

Ngidi played his first series for South Africa earlier this year against India and was then picked by CSK in the IPL Players’ auction.

CSK has players like Dhoni, Shane Watson, Harbhajan Singh, Dwayne Bravo, Suresh Raina and more such stalwarts in their ranks and Ngidi is honing his skills among them.

on Monday, Ngidi visited a local cricket club in Pune and expressed his happiness over the experience.

In an Instagram post, Ngidi shared some pictures and a video and said “Today I had to train and went to one of the local cricket clubs, I was humbled by the experience seeing the conditions these guys trained and played in without a complaint, I really saw kids that love cricket.. a really touching experience.”

In the pictures, Ngidi is surrounded by kids of the club and he is signing their cricket bats while a boy is taking a selfie with him.

In the video, Ngidi can be seen bowling a delivery but there looks to be a strap at the back of his right knee. Perhaps a niggle he is carrying.

On Twitter, Ngidi shared a video of two girls doing the ‘Lungi dance’ for him and said that it made his day.

CSK have already reached the playoffs after their thumping win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Despite the win, they actually qualified after Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians in Jaipur later in the day.

MS Dhoni has led the team from the front this season, scoring 413 runs from 12 games.
